Gharana wetland is located near working boudary in District Jammu. It is the crowded with migratory birds from siberia.

  • Just having a cursory look at this wetland,in google earth, i feel that it is certainly a dying crater lake. Half of the crater is obliterated by agricultural activities ,whereas, the southern half is still intact.Geologically, there can be no other reason of its formation.----Dr kundal, Dept of Geology , GGM Sc.   • Also, watch a small central high of this crater, it is formed due the bouncing/relaxation of the compressed sediments/rocks.
