NeyyattinkaraNeyyattinkara is a municipal town in Neyyattinkara taluk of Thiruvananthapuram district in Kerala, India, and lies 20 km to the south of Thiruvananthapuram city on the National Highway 47 to Kanyakumari. It is a historically important town, which is famous as the hiding place of Marthandavarma during his wars. Neyyattinkara and the neighbouring areas has a lot of cottage industries and handloom. The ever growing Trivandrum city has almost reached its borders. The Shri Krishna Swamy Temple, where Marthandavarma hide during his wars, is a famous spot in the town. The town is situated near the Neyyar River, one of the principal rivers in the district. Aruvippuram, nearby is an important pilgrim centre. Nairs are the original inhibatants of this area and others migrated from Srilanka and Tamil nadu
