Cap d'Agde

France / Languedoc-Roussillon / Agde /
 tourism, resort, nudism

Feel free to take your clothes off, because nudity is accepted.

The most famous nude beach and resort in France attract up to 40,000 people at any one time in peak season. More than 1 km of level sand and calm sea make this a popular choice for countless European nudists, although it's rather different from most or the quieter and more natural resorts and beaches. All manner of seaside-based sports are available.
Practical info: Exit the A9 motorway at the Agde junction and take the RN312 expressway towards the main resort. On entering Cap d'Agde follow the signs to the Quartier Naturiste. There is a small charge to enter the resort. Alternatively, the nudist beach area can be accessed by walking south along the shore from the Marseiilan Plage direction.
This naked city has apartments, villas, and a 3-star hotel, as well as camping and caravan accommodation. The whole naturist quarter is clothes-optional - so if you're curious it offers a unique opportunity to go to the bank, have your hair cut or fuel up the car all in the buff! There is also a marina within the resort.
