  • It straddles the border of San Jose and Santa Clara because it used to be two separate malls, Stevens Creek Plaza in Santa Clara, which was anchored by Emporium(now Macy's mens) I Magnin (now Sports Authority) Safeway and a pharmacy store. On the San Jose side was Valley Fair Center, built by Macy's (the store used to have a rooftop fair, for the first few years it was open, but was removed for Macy's expansion. The rest of the mall had a Woolworth's, another grocery store and several other shops, all in an outdoor plaza. Macy's also had a loading dock that ran under the store, beginning near Monroe (it's still there between the Macy's Garage and Parking Garage C) and exiting in the front where Parking Garage A now is, the tunnel is no longer used for deliveries. There was also a strip of homes between the two centers, along the central driveway to Valley Fair ( Between Wamu and Bank of America) it used to run through the middle as was indicated, but someone decided to remove it for some reason.
