The De La Salle John Bosco College (DLSJBC) is a Lasallian district school located in Mangagoy, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur in the Philippines. It was established in 1963 by the Don Bosco Fathers, the administration and supervision of which was formally turned over to the De La Salle Brothers in 1977.
Formerly handled by the Salesian Brothers of Don Bosco, the Bislig Bay Elementary School is from the scratches a charity school of the Augustinian Recollect Missionary Sisters to provide education solely for the Boys of the community.
As they were run by the Don Bosco Fathers, they applied technical education to supply the demand of that time. In 1974, the Jose Maria Soriano - Learning Center (JMS-LC), a La Salle-Supervised school in Coleto, also in Bislig, was established by PICOP for the benefits of the children of the company employees living in Forest Drive Village which is 13 kilometers away from the company. The school was then appointed a Brother-Supervisor, Br. Thomas Cannon, FSC as the first school director.
Then, the school was passed on to the De La Salle Brothers and recognized last 2006 as a member school of the De La Salle Philippines System.

what la sallians should learn is the value of humility....
yes!!! you have to be proud for being la sallians. i know this is the fulfillment of your dreams..to be a la salle school...
i dont know how the teachers here motivated the students and how values are inculcated,,,but students coming from other school have a common impression to students from jbc: mga pamati..hambog...feeling...

I graduated from this school last year 1997. Being a la salle graduate should make you proud and it is also expected for you to behave like one. This school is one of the best school in CARAGA region but the problem is, some students from public schools who just got enrolled at the school became arrogant and feel more likely stupid brats. Students who started studying from kinder to high school and graduated 4th year are the ones with quality attitudes but students who are impostors of the school are the ones who pretended to be a genius with brains full of boast! |

over na pag internalize ug pagka proud nga lasallian cla--to the extent nga hambog na ug ngil-ad na paminawon
a special subjet to teach the students and even teachers and administrators how to be "humble" should be offered. dapat iemphasize nga as la sallians, magpaka-humble mo...or humble ba ang mga la sallians?
your school claims to be the best--"green reigns", you say--so try to live with it--sa kilos at pananalita--- dili kay chege lng mo pang hambog
but i must say, jbc is the best here in bislig---ayaw na nin-u exageraTE by claiming kamu ang d' best sa caraga--haleeeer...

its true that some students in DLSJBC (specially hiEd) are bOastfuLL.. sobraan ra ka prOud Coz nkaskOl cLa sa DLSJBC... but nOt all students man pud.. some are still humbLe man gihapon. even me siguro na ngskol pud sa DLSJBC(hied), proud pud but nOt to the pOint na ikapanghambog... kunbaga, thankfull lang kay nakaschool sa DLSJBC...

i agree with "simple_chiQ " that 'some' "pure bred la sallians" tend to belittle other half-blood la sallians. hahahahaha..seee? asa na ang "one la salle" ani,,,, theres a descrimantion among and between la sallians themselves.... why is it a big deal for some nga la sallian ka or dili or kung pure(meaning from kinder to highschool-college) or kung sa college lng ka nag skul diri? why?
in my opinion, the people who should be blamed are the teachers and administrators because they taught the students to be "proud" of being "la sallian" in such a way that the latter misinterpreted it and developed to a culture of "ethnocentrism".

mao rani ang skul nga testing center tesda sa Bislig, pero mubo ug result, kasagaran bagsak sa mga exam sa TESDA... purya gaba, pamati man gud ilang mga students sa IT, Comp SCie og compTEch... mao mao ra ug kalidad sa STIP....
HOw about sa ASC? tingala nlang ka, bisan gubaon, Taas permi ang passing rate sa mga exams nga ginahatag sa tesda.

It would be better if DLSJBC will still be JBC. It should be run by the Salesians of Don Bosco and not by the La Sallian Brothers because Don Bosco is way way better than La Salle. The Salesian Brothers and Priests are more active to the young rather tha the FSCs. If you want good education and family spirit with the young, stay with St. John Bosco. FORZA! Don Bosco. :) |
