Potteric Carr is a nature reserve maintained by the Yorkshire Wildlife trust. It is their flagship and largest reserve. Over 158 species of bird have been recorded here and around 70 species breed every year including kingfisher, grasshopper, reed and sedge warblers, all three woodpeckers and woodcock.
