Ganganagar is one of the early developed industrial area in and around the city of Ichalkaranji. It's spread over gram panchayats of Kabnur, Korochi and also partially over the municipal corporation of Ichalkaranji. It was originally formed as the base for the sugar factory and its employee quarters. This area also covered a significant acreage of farm land. It is later developed as the residence for the workers too from the surrounding industries.
