There was a music store here when Jimi was a child (in the 1990's it was a pawn shop). Jimi's father bought him his first guitar here. There used to be (until about 2000) a large Jimi Hendrix mural and a plaque on the outside wall stating this fact, but they were removed once this property was bought by Harbor Properties, who own the monolithic condos across the street as well as multiple additional properties throughout downtown Seattle.
