Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge Discovery Center

The Discovery Center at the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge provides a place for refuge volunteers to meet visitors and answer questions inside a modern facility. The Center includes a classroom/laboratory facility for the Discovery Environmental Education Program (DEEP). DEEP provides students with hands-on experience at the refuge, and includes field trips to augment the schools' science curriculum in the area of natural ecological systems. These investigations are led by volunteers; the entire project is administered by the Environmental Education Ranger at the refuge.

Construction of the Discovery Center funded was by the US Fish and Wildlife Service in partnership with the Friends of Brazoria National Wildlife Refuges and the many contributors, including individuals, corporations and foundations.
