  • During the 1950s, several landfills in the Alviso area accepted wastes from an asbestos cement pipe manufacturing facility. This waste was later used for raising the grade of the site and for constructing a ring-levee, resulting in asbestos contamination throughout the Alviso area and covering roughly 330 acres. The Site was listed on the Federal Superfund list in 1985. I believe these buildings were built on a portion of the superfund site.

  • Visited in the summer of 2012, and the Marina was just as pictured, with the three fishing boats tied to the north portion of the dock, which was still accessible to the water, and appeared to be used. The balance of the marina and docks were silted in and completely overgrown. As pictured, there were still a few boats moored in the central part of the docks, but the boats were locked in & stranded by the overgrown vegetation. Clubhouse still looked in good shape.
