Labelled 1699 (but actually about 30 years older), this is one of the oldest buildings in Battersea. It used to have a garden that went right up to the river, and the estate to its east was built in its garden). It narrowly escaped complete demolition when the estate was being built, and only an intervention by central Government saved it. This didn't prevent many years of decay, butit was eventually rescued and restored, and is now home to the Forbes art collection.
