We are a tree-shaded gem nestled in the heart of Tampa, providing tranquil relief from the heavily-trafficked thoroughfares that border us. Those stately old bungalows that you see being maintained and restored date back to the early 1900s. Some of these homes are included in our National Register and local Historic Districts to ensure their preservation for generations to come. While we take great pride in our history, our present and future are of paramount importance to us. Our neighborhood continues to grow and attract new residents of all ages and diverse cultural backgrounds. However, we have retained a warm, friendly, caring atmosphere not seen in many communities today. We have a serious commitment to our excellent schools and to the churches of varied denominations which are vitally involved in the lives and activities of our residents.

How large is Old Seminole Heights? It encompasses all of the property north of Hillsborough Avenue to the Hillsborough River; east of the river to 22nd Street and south of Hillsborough Avenue to Martin Luther King Boulevard between Florida Avenue and I-275. A large chunk of real estate! Have a look at our map for a better idea of our boundaries.

How do you maintain a neighborhood feeling in such a large area? We accomplish it with a strong, pro-active neighborhood association. The Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association (OSHNA) is the cohesive force within our boundaries and is our collective voice on a myriad of issues affecting our community. As the largest neighborhood association in the city, with over 400 members, it has the attention and respect of our government officials.

OSHNA holds quarterly general membership meetings in a "town hall" format, during which all residents can voice suggestions, questions and concerns. The nine member board, comprised of four officers and five trustees, has monthly meetings which are open to anyone wishing to attend. See our neighborhood calendar for dates and times.
