Skylands, the Edsel Ford Cottage, is now Martha Stewart's Summer House.

Duncan Candler planned this house in Seal Harbor for Edsel and Eleanor Ford. The local masonry firm of B. W. Candage and Son built the house and the landscape was designed by Jens Jensen. It has lately become the home of lifestyle maven and ex-jailbird Martha Stewart.

Don't plan on sightseeing except perhaps from the air unless you relish the prospect of being unlawfully detained. Once somebody tried to approach the house up the pink granite drive (whose granules are annually removed, washed and replaced) and her goon squad descended in several black SUVs to prevent the hapless tourists from departing until their mistress could deliver a harangue about invasion of privacy.
