  • Originally named "Gamma Hall," residents were called "Gamma Girls" or "The Girls of Gamma" in the old days. One half of the top floor was off limits to men under any circumstances whatsoever and was refered to as "The Virgin Vault."
  • "The Virgin Vault"? Ha, I love that. Too funny.
  • I was a resident of that "women only" half of the top floor (Gamma 5 East) for 3 semesters in 1980-81. They called us "The Nunnery," though it didn't seem to make much sense, as I remember a pretty wild atmosphere with a very lax RA and plenty of male "visitors." ;0
  • Sometime in the 1970's the girls of Gamma 4 East made up shirts that said "GIVE" in large block letters. Give was an abbreviation for Gamma IV E. The "Give girls" were among the most popular on campus.
  • I was a gamma girl in the 70's and trust me there were no nuns haha. I still can't tell my 2 twenty something daughters about the goings on in gamma. GLad I lived it !
