  • My Dad was stationed here 1970 - 73/74, 1st Battalion Light Infantry, came across my SSAFA Families Medical Centre card, so thought I would look up the barracks

  • Hi Paula! Was your Dad Called Graham? I was 1LI in Lemgo at the same time as your Dad. I was in C Company and then the MT. From Lemgo we went to Colchester.

  • Hello My dad was called Frank he was in the First Battalion Light Infantry that must have been the same time as you were there, you may have known my dad, after that my Dad also went to Colchester. Then after completing 22 years in the Army being a Staff Sergeant my dad left the Army and we settled down in Colchester. Sadly my dad passed away in 2002 aged 74.
  • Hello Graham My Dad was called Frank Bowell he was in the First Battalion Light Infantry, You may have known him he was also stationed in Lemgo he then came back to Colchester after serving there for a short time he retired from the army after serving his 22 years and settled in the Colchester area for the rest of his life with his wife Doreen and their 4 children.
