Walls of the Old City of Phigalia

Phigalia (or Phigalia or Phigaleia, or Φιγάλεια Φιγαλεία Greek) is an ancient Greek city that retains a vast enclosure of about 3 km, very rustic looking, with sections of polygonal masonry or isodome low openings and corbelled fortress with a central circular tower and the remains of sanctuaries. The city has experienced some prosperity in the classical period. Pausanias has visited the city in 170. Then she collapsed completely during the Roman period.
