Steel Point is an abandoned area of Bridgeport, Connecticut subject to Urban Decay. The area used to be a community until the City of Bridgeport took the area into eminent domain in the 1990's with intents to build a casino. The Casino was never built and now is simply a collection of abandoned lots, several of the streets in Steel Point have been closed off to the public.

  • This area was vacant long before the structures were taken down. The eminent domain process only started in the 1990s and the last properties have been acquired in the past year. The bad economy has slowed efforts to redevelop this area of the city, and it remains to be seen if anything will pop up here in the near future.
