  • This beautiful bow-string girder bridge adds to the beauty of the place. It was constructed in the same appearance of the adjoining Marthanda Varma brige, some 40 years after the latter was built. I remember visiting the brige on the day it was inaugurated in the 1960s with my father. He commented at that time that the Mangalappuzha bridge did not have wide foot-paths like Marth. brige. In any cas, both these bridges are land marks and define the character of Aluva.
