Prior to the Ethiopian revolution of the 1970's, Addis Ketema High School used to be called Leul Mekonnen High School. It was named after Prince Mekonnen, the son of Emperor Halie Selassie I.

  • To be honest with you i don't like this school. To me this school is too noisy particularly after school(outside) some times unnecessary noise comes directly to the class, bad; and i went there for only one year. i remember i was counting that year by month and by days to get the hell out of it. Some of you may not agree with me and sorry.
  • The best high school in Ethiopia. I have so many good memories. I will never forget my Amharic teacher " Esu Yebechaw nwe" . I can't tell you how fast the four years went bye. Where else can you get the best education and have a blast at the same time???. I remember when I was in 12th grade, we used to enjoy the fine music coming from " MIn komhe Tayalhe gebthe Atetetame Tej Bet " . The Tej bet does not exist now.
  • OMG All of the comments are really true about Addis Ketema and I am among those who NEVER forget the memories I had in Addis ketema and built many friends who now have a very close relation with me till, hope to the end. As for the teachers as some body of you said above, I wouldnot forget 3 teachers 1. Kidane maths( who I heard his death, feeling sorry) 2. Ato Solomon Terfassa, English teacher 3. Ato KassaTilahun ( and I heard He also died, feeling Sympathy) who was the director of the school. were those with a high part of my life for this base.
