Hanssenpark is the biggest urban park in Vilvoorde
The park was originally surrounded by an Art Nouveau stained iron fence, part of which was preserved in the 'Koepoortstraat' and at the exit at the height of Station Square, the latter was now also replacing and new iron gate at the redevelopment of the park in winter and spring of 2003, these works were also a number of old trees felled, others were cut, the trails got a new pavement.
