Now officially Westfield Wheaton, but still commonly referred to as Wheaton Plaza or Wheaton Mall. In the mid 1960s, it consisted of two rows of stores, one level, in the open air--no roof over the plaza. Montgomery Ward was at the west end; Woodward & Lothrop at the east.

In the early 1970s, the roof was added and the plaza was enclosed. Later, a wing was added to the south, with a new anchor, Hecht's, on the end. This new wing had a lower level with a food court. In the rest of the mall, below the single level of shops, there were loading docks. In the early 2000s, the underground loading docks area was converted into a lower level of stores. The old Giant Food store, which had been on the north side of the Mall (and which probably predated the Mall) was demolished, and the new Giant Food was built to the west. A new Macy's was built where the Giant had been.
