geothermal power plant
Add category
The Bottle Rock geothermal power plant was originally put into operation by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) in February 1985. Because of an insufficient supply of underground steam, the plant could produce only about 15 MW of its installed capacity of 55MW. The DWR mothballed the facility in November 1990 and sold it in 2001. U.S. Renewables Group acquired a controlling interest in the plant in October 2005 with the intention of repowering it.
