Rockfields, built c.1900 designed by Noel & Miller, for financier James Stillman Rockefeller as a wedding gift to his bride Nancy Carnegie. The 14,000 sq ft Georgian colonial manor went through an historic preservation renovation, finished in late 2008. The 11+ acre estate includes carriage house and pool house.
James S. Rockefeller born in 1902, the grandson of William G. Rockefeller and the great-nephew of Standard Oil founder John D. Rockefeller. James Stillman Rockefeller graduated from Yale University in 1924. He captained the eight-man crew with coxswain to win the gold medal at the 1924 Paris Olympics.
