The Oval (Columbus, Ohio)

USA / Ohio / Columbus / Columbus, Ohio
 university, park

Popular location for students to relax, study, sunbathe. Also a popular location for protestors, petition takers.

A certain amount of triva exists around this oval. It is said that if a couple walk from the east end to the west end of the Oval following the main path are said to be destined to marry.

Also, until recently the Oval was closed for renovations. Besides the installation of an automatic sprinkler system, the main path had the paving that had covered it during the 1960s removed. It had originally been paved over to prevent students from prying up bricks and throwing them through windows during protests on the campus during the frequent protests and disturbances of the period.
