palace, Neoclassical (architecture), interesting place, listed building / architectural heritage, 1906_construction, Neo-Renaissance (architecture)

Built in 1893 – 1906. in a neoclassical style with a combination of Viennese neo-Renaissance (classical-syncretistic style).

The palace of Count Casimir Badeni is symmetrical, two-story, decorated with three risalits and a figured roof. The oval ballroom, located on the ground floor of the building and decorated with oak panels, has survived to this day. Portraits of Polish kings were placed on the walls of the hall, and near it there was a library, a dining room and a chapel, and on the other side there were living quarters. The second floor of the palace, according to plan, consisted only of living quarters. The classical-syncretistic style of the building is emphasized by luxurious baroque heraldic attributes, among which the bas-relief depicting a crossed scythe and flail is especially noteworthy, and on others we see military and hunting tools. The interior of the palace is decorated with artistic use of colored wood.

Each of the risalits of the main facade is decorated with four columns, and the central one, in addition, has a balcony on the second floor. The columns of the central risalit are designed in the Ionic style (in addition, they are also entwined with stucco garlands at half the height), and the side ones have Doric capitals. The walls along the length are covered with rustication, the windows in different parts of the palace have different finishes, in general there are already 10 types of them. On the window pediments of the first floor we see putti heads; in addition, several decorative vases are mounted between the windows of both floors. The windows of the central projection are especially luxuriously decorated with intricate stucco molding, and on the second floor there are doors with a semicircular ending opening onto the balcony. The central risalit is crowned with a triangular pediment with a sculptural composition, and the side ones are crowned with false pediments of complex shape, also covered with luxurious stucco. The gable roof of the palace, cut through by small lucarnes, is unusually flat, almost flat. But above the risalits, the roof rises with high domes with forged fences, similar to those in the Lviv National Museum. There is a low entrance for carriages in front of the main entrance, but it is not covered from precipitation.

Although some villas and palaces are richly decorated only on the side of the main facade, and other sides of the building have a purely utilitarian appearance, Count Badeni did not skimp. The rear park facade looks no less presentable than the main one, and is designed in the same style, although made differently. The main difference lies in the main projection; it is polygonal in shape, decorated with as many as six columns, but the windows on the second floor are small and round. The central risalit does not have a balcony, but small balconies appeared on the side ones, which also have four columns. The sides of the palace are decorated with small semicircular projections with doors and round windows on the second floor.
