Marala headworks is located on the Chenab River near the city of Sialkot, Punjab, Pakistan. Marala headworks is a massive hydro engineering project which controls water flow and flood in River Chenab. It was built in 1968. It has two water canals, the Marala-Ravi Link Canal and the Upper Chenab Canal.
Head Marala is also a picnic spot, wildlife sanctuary and unprotected wetland.

  • It is scenic spot to visit. Two large canals sprout from the Marala Headworks. The view of the Chenab river from the Marala Spillway bridge is breath taking. Fried fresh water fish is readily available in the nearby eateries that form a nice picnic spot.
