Quit India Movement and Yavali.

Yavali is a small village 26 km.distant from Amravati off the Amravati-Morsi road. On 15th August 1942, a large procession was organized by the people in response to the Quit India Movement, which took possession of the village school, post office and the Patel’s record. They also hoisted the National Flag. The Police Force was dispatched from Amravati to repress the freedom fighters; indiscriminate firing of police killed 10 and injured 22 persons.
