This is a man made lake formed sometime around 1980 as a result of the road leading to the electricity sub-station. Before it was a part of the creek. The depession formed got filled with water and it became a fresh water lake. We at Lokhandwala Complex Environmental Action Group have managed to save the lake till now. In 1999 BMC was filling it up with garbage. This year unfortunately Ganpati Visarjan started.

Please join hands in saving this beautiful lake which is an oasis of calm and serenity. The place is excellent for birdwatching. You can follow some updates on www.lceag.wordpress.com. If you are concerned please do join us to save the lake.
