Sea Rock HotelOnce on the Mumbai Top Hotels List. 1 of the locations of the 1993 serial blasts that rocked the city.recently the hotel was partly reopened.
As of now it's a dirty old ruin blocking the breathtaking views of the sea from the lower floors of Taj Lands End It's a mystery as to why this place has not been bought over by another hotel chain or re-built etc. With the prices going for real-estate, an ideal location for a 5 star hotel (already proven) and with the easy way builders & hoteliers obtain licences doled out by our state politicians - it is a mystery as to why this place has not been yet risen like phoenix from it's ashes! Surely the police etc. are not holding this as a crime scene for so long. And, in the mean time allowing the place to fall into a ruin ? Surely, they alone have not been known to be so upstanding against a state politician wanting to take a bung. Or unless it is a dog in the manger situation - the original owners are being prevented from selling because the politicians cannot make the dosh they want - so it is a stalemate. Well, Freedom of Information Act - maybe there are some answers there or are they ? This Hotel has been purchased by the adjoining Taj hotel for Rs 680Cr in June 2009.
