Battle site near Kato Simi, severe fighting took place in and around this area between the Cretan Partizans and the German occupation forces.
The German forces suffered heavy losses against a small force of (±50) Partizans who ambused them, it has been told that the Germans went in with approx. 200 men and were slaugthered, only 2 soldiers survived the battle, losses on the Partizan side were minor.
After the battle the Partizans pulled back to the omalous Plateau nearby.
