Russia / Leningrad / Murino / Saint Petersburg

Polustrovsky Park is a park in the Krasnogvardeisky district of St. Petersburg (the municipal district of Polustrovo), it is limited to the highway of the Revolution, the prospectus of the Metalworkers, Lvivska street and the street of Marshal Tukhachevsky. The park crosses April Street. The area is 44.87 hectares.

History
For a long time already Polubrovsky was called an extensive wetland on the right bank of the Neva. The word "polestrovo" is a modified Latin "paluster" ("marshy", "marshy"). Healing properties of ferruginous mineral springs located in this region were known as far back as the beginning of the 18th century. There is evidence that Peter I, on the advice of his medical lab, LL Blumenstrost, later the first president of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences, used the water of the Polistrovian iron keys, calling them "steel waters."

At the beginning of the XIX century in Polustrovo, drainage works were carried out and a hydropathic clinic became the center of a small resort. In 1868, a large fire destroyed a significant part of the park that existed here, as well as a resort that was no longer being restored. Its territory, as well as neighboring estates, was sold at sites, and new construction began here, including industrial enterprises.

The modern park was broken in 1967 on the site of the old residential building. It was redesigned in 1973 and 1986 (architects ON Bashinsky, TI Sholokhov).

Until 2007 the park was named Park named after the 50th anniversary of October. On December 7, 2006, by the decree of the city government the park was renamed into Polyustrovsky
