Since weaving these saris involves some dexterity for removing the silk worms from the cocoons and extracting the precious thread...child labour is not only rampant here...but also governmentally recognised and accepted. No matter how many UN reports on human rights, pressure ahs only succeeded in the proliferation of night schools - proof of the Government's and authorities halplessness to deal with this menace. Attendance at night schools show that children might be interested in educating themselves,and in a few success stories, they have been able to use the night school as a brdge to the muncipal school and a better chance at a childhood.The grim fact remains that most child labour cases here are bonded labour involving varying degrees of violence and abuse.

Bcoz we have lot of temples in kanchipuram. Kanchipuram is also famous for silk sarees. More than 5000 family are engaged in silk business in Kanchipuram.

Kachipuram name is some time called "mokshapuri' and jaina kanchi and siva kanchi and vishnu kanchi.

I love kancheepuram.

Kancheepuram is one of the panchabootha sthal ie., earth. It is a place where you can find Lord Siva and Vishnu are one and the same as the Vishnu avatars are located in Ekamabaranathar Temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple and these two places are included in 108 Vaishnava temples in INDIA. A good place to visit and enjoy the experience. Student of Geogology can get more details from Kanchi soil.
