I studied there and passed the HSC in 1983. I remember teachers, Sabder Ali, Khairul Islam Chowdhury, and more. Ali was very strict to run the school smooth, that was good but Chowdhury was very rude to students, he used to beat students as if they were bulls. He was not alone there were few more ruthless teachers there, who did not show any mercy to failed students. I wonder why did they beat ordinary student that bad and in front of others? A lady teacher was very shrewd, cannot remember her name. That year some students revealed that some teachers used to pass the question papers to some certain students before the exam. Those students used to become first in exams. One of them was Mizanur Rahman, who used to stand first for all exams. That was a revolutionary attempt from few brave students. We hailed them. I cannot remember any of their names but I remember the leader of this revolution was a son of a local grocer. Both his family and he were very honest. One Abul Kashem, a Math teacher, and few more were caught. I only knew this during the exam day. I am still thinking how dare those teachers who used to pass the exam papers to some students and they used to get the highest numbers, while we tried our best to achieve highest numbers. We were very cornered because of those students’ attitudes. Suddenly I got to know about this site and was looking for my area, which I left long ago for London. I am still haunted for that day. I heard days are not similar now and school is now one of the best school in the city. Nice to know this. It is about 20 years, I did not visit this city. I wish that someday I could manage to fly there. Despite those bad feelings, I still feel for this school. The environment was very nice, almost pure village, we moved there few years ago and were surprised to see the tranquillity. Some local people used to play loud speakers all the day and night during their wedding ceremonies, were really annoying. |
