Also called Singapore Layout. Modelled on a layout built origininally in Singapore. Houses quite a few members of the journalist fraternity in Bangalore.

  • The so called Singapore Layout nothing to boast of except wide roads and beautiful and badly maintained parks. The layout lacks certain basic amenities such as Shopping complex, community hall and Auditoriam/cenima hall which are otherwise essential components of any modern Residential Layout. The irony is BDA has its own sheds/HOPCOM shops lying vacant for years in this layout. Neither it provides the facilities nor it allows any private entrepreneurs to provide the amenities most wanted by the residents. Since most of the residents in this layout are transferable Government Officer/Bank Officers and other PSU employees no personal stake or interest is involved. Obviously, the local MLAs/Corporaters and other political personalities evince any interest in the welfare of the local residents. To prove this point, two huge and Gigantic Offices have come up in the areas earmarked for Civic amenities such as shopping complex, hospital and post Offices. No one including Local Residents welfare Association. HENCE THIS LAYOUT BETTER BE CALLED AS SO.....POOR LAYOUT rather than Singapore Layout.

To add to its owes, some Industrial Units have been releasing Industrial effluents in to the open drains passing through the Layout posing health hazards to the residents. But Pollution control Boards are looking other-way while this violation has been happening right under its nose. THUS, SO CALLED SINGAPORE LAYOUT HAS NOW BECOME SO.......POOR LAYOUT.
  • It can't be compared to Singapore as such....Its just a small locality of residential quarters and with big circular park. But the time I have spent there will always be cherished.
