The Gnesins' Academy of Music is a state institution in Moscow, Russian Federation.

Founded as the private college of music by two sisters Gnesin in 1895, the college was divided into an elementary school and a secondary school in 1920. Later in 1944 a "musical insitute" was opened and in 1946 - a complete 10-years primary school.

Previously called "state music pedagogical institute", the Academy adopted its present name in 1992.

Now the four schools of the Gnesin's are: elementary school, complete 10-years primary school, secondary school (college) and academy with post graduate courses.

The Gnesin Academy of music has four affiliates in Russian Federation and abroad.

The Academy includes among its members some 400 professors most of them with scientific degrees.

Over 2000 Russian and foreign students take there education in the Academy.

The Academy awards bachelor's, master's and professional degrees in a variety of fields. Disciplines include orchestra instruments and pianoforte, jazz and folklore studies.
